2016 Flying Season Officially Underway

The 2016 flying season is now underway at GGC as of March 20^th. A rapid and wet thaw last week accelerated the snow melt on the runways to the point of being able to use our paved 26/08 runway to start spring check-outs. Spring checkouts continued throughout the afternoon.

 

A spring “Rust Remover” safety briefing was held in the GGC clubhouse on the morning prior to the commencement of flight operations. 29 GGC pilots attended this briefing, additional briefings will be held in the upcoming weeks. Special thanks to Martin and Jarek for getting the clubhouse warmed up with the wood stove and fireplace.
