This past weekend saw a mix of preparation activities for the National Soaring Championships underway
at GGC.
Starting on a dreary Saturday morning, a crew lead by
Jacques Asselin started work on rebuilding our exterior showers in preparation
for the Nationals (July 1st -12th).
Base preparations and framing were completed Saturday and the roof
framing on Sunday.
Special thanks to everyone who pitched helped out, in
particular Ron S., Andrew K. and Lucile H. Due to the effort and push this
weekend, we are well on the way to completion by the start of the Nationals. Another
thank-you goes out to Andrew D. for fabricating
9 ropes for the Nationals
With a string of wet weekends since MayFly, Saturday evening
saw glider pilots doing the next best thing to get in the air. Paper airplanes
to the rescue! Unfortunately the flight paths of some of the designs met with
an untimely fate as they zoomed into the fireplace.
The weather finally cleared out on Sunday, maybe somebody
upstairs took pity on our paper airplane flying…
See you at the aerodrome.
